The most important factor that makes Bain unique is the people!

Why Bain?

The most important factor that makes Bain unique is the people! Throughout the interview process, I interacted with Bainies who are smart, fun, and down-to-earth. I love their passion for the firm, the job, and how they take pride in being result-driven. Bain also emphasizes on having a team attitude, helping to create a very friendly and collegial work environment.

My passion

I love to travel and Bain has helped to satisfy my passion. There are many cases in the Singapore office which offers consultants the chance to travel to other ASEAN countries. Also, the global experience-sharing program offers consultants opportunities to work in another office for up to 6 months.

My favorite case

My most recent case involved recommending a repeatable formula for a client in the hospitality industry. The case was very challenging as we were required to understand a myriad of issues within a short timeframe. Also, the work is high-impact as it covers many areas of current client operations and we expect the recommendations to bring many tangible benefits in the future.

My perspective on diversity at Bain

One of the things that truly amazes me about Bain is the variety of background that everyone hails from. From people's nationality to the major they took for their undergraduate/graduate degrees, there are so many permutations that it's almost impossible to identify the demographics of a typical Bainie.

A final thought

'Fit' to an office/firm is probably one of the most important criteria when choosing where to work, so always take the time to talk to as many people as you can from that firm. Look at how they carry themselves and listen to how they describe the firm and their work. It will help you in understanding the firm culture and if you'll want to be colleagues with them.
