Worldwide offices
At Bain, we work seamlessly together as one firm to serve our clients wherever they need us. We have 42 offices in 27 countries around the world. We make our collective knowledge, experience and global network available to our clients.
Office overview
Bain's second German office opened 2002 in Düsseldorf, one of the economic centers in Western Germany and an important location for insurance, media, and telecommunication companies. Our office outgrew its original location in the city center, and temporarily relocated across the Rhine River to the Feldmühle before moving to its new premises at the Düsseldorf harbor.
The new office is smaller in size, but we uphold a close and personal network. Exchanging case experiences at the Friday Breakfasts or meeting for an ad-hoc BBQ in the evening on the office's roof terrace also contribute to Bain's open and collaborative working environment in a local way.

Our social impact
Beyond case work, the Dusseldorf office has launched several community activities over the last couple of years - starting with an annual "Community Impact Day" in 2007. Since then, colleagues came up with more ideas, and one thing led to another. In the meantime, we built strong personal relationships with several social organizations and we all agree that we learn a lot from each other.
Community Impact Day
Once a year, the whole office puts on jeans and sneakers and we spend a day with a social organization, helping them to implement a project. We usually spend time outside and build or refurbish spaces - e.g., a barbecue area at a community organization, or a playground at a kindergarten. We enjoy the opportunity to work with our hands and to mingle with the on-site people. So far, we somehow managed to choose a rainy day every year, but consider this as part of the fun and tradition by now.
Interview Training
A "spin-off" of our first Community Impact Day - we regularly train teenagers who did not complete school for recruiting interviews, creating a real-life interview situation. Many of our employees from Partner to Executive Assistant have conducted one or more of these interviews. The trainees often keep contact, and if they succeed in finding a job after all, we're often as proud of them as they are!
Christmas Tree
Each year, we decorate the Christmas tree in our cafeteria with wish lists from children whose parents can't afford to buy a bunch of presents. Most of us pick one or several wishes from the tree to fulfill these ("glittery nail polish" being one of the greater challenges for our male colleagues.)
World Cup Game
We also try to establish something new every year - this year, it had to be something around soccer. Not only South Africa is hosting a world cup - also Germany is: We're thrilled that the annual Bain soccer world cup will take place in Munich this year. Consequently, we'll have a betting game going on, a large share of the fees being donated to one of our partner organizations.Recruiting process and contacts
