Develop a customized knowledge base

We care about your goals. A staffing coordinator in your local office will work with you directly to match your interests with Bain's staffing needs. You are encouraged to explore a broad spectrum of project types (corporate strategy or mergers and acquisitions, for example) across a broad range of industries. If you want to develop a deeper experience in a specific practice area, then the staffing coordinator will work to give you a mix of opportunities, both within and outside of your specific area of expertise.

We provide you with alternative work options to suit your needs.

Our offices offer a number of work flexibility programs. They include part-time work, leaves of absence, rotations into corporate or administrative roles, and "Take Two"—a two-month leave from Bain available to those who have worked for ten consecutive months and want a longer vacation to pursue a passion. We strongly encourage these options: they're designed to meet your changing needs and provide career-enhancing opportunities.

Actively manage your career satisfaction

We use several tools to monitor employee satisfaction. We conduct case team surveys monthly from team members who submit quantitative and qualitative anonymous feedback to team leaders. We then track all of our case teams globally across two dimensions: sustainability and client impact. Our Worldwide Managing Director uses a monthly report based on these dimensions to actively guide the operational decisions across Bain's business. We also track team member hours on a regular basis to maintain a positive work environment.

One of our guiding principles for the work at Bain is to be "at cause." This encompasses employee satisfaction. It encourages our people to seek action and help resolve problems, rather than tolerating or complaining about them. Our culture is entrepreneurial and you will be empowered to create change.
