Formal training at Bain equips you with the tools that you need to excel in a demanding job. The breadth of training is wide—from understanding a company's financial statements, to learning how to present insights to clients effectively. Bain's training programs are designed to support you from your first day and through each milestone of your Bain career.
Bain offers a "continuous learning program." This blends regular global programs held in locations around the world with local in-office sessions tailored to your specific needs.
The strength of our training has meant that Bain has been ranked the number one consulting firm for formal training by Vault.com for four years in a row (since the rankings started). These rankings are compiled through anonymous surveys of employees across consulting firms.
Global training
Training is core to who we are and what we do at Bain. You'll attend global training sessions every 12-18 months. These are excellent opportunities to build strong friendships and relationships with your global peers and interact with Bain's best and brightest senior management. Unique to Bain, training is almost always conducted by your senior colleagues, who themselves have experienced the role you are in. Our programs include:

Local training
In addition to the local training programs described above, we offer individual training modules in-office every 3-4 months, tailored to your needs at the relevant point in your career.
Online tools
Sophisticated online tools also are available to you at all times. The intranet-based "Bain Virtual University" offers over 500 training modules, including templates and video-based sessions, to help you answer ongoing problems or questions that arise in your every day work.
Our "Global Experience Center" (GXC) enables knowledge and best-practice transfer between offices. The GXC allows consultants to access all Bain case work easily, as well as industry and functional knowledge, and external databases, worldwide. The GXC also allows you to track down other colleagues with relevant experience.
