Women at Bain - People

The people at Bain are smart, driven, down-to-earth, and passionate about making an impact. A special kinship exists among our employees, many of whom become not only respected colleagues but also friends for life.

Women occupy many senior leadership roles in the firm and have played leadership roles on our governance committees throughout our firm's history. Two notable women leaders are Orit Gadiesh and Phyllis Yale.

Orit Gadiesh

Orit Gadiesh
As chairman of Bain & Company, Orit Gadiesh is one of the leaders in today's international strategy consulting industry and is widely recognized for her expertise in the implementation of change within the corporation.

Orit joined Bain & Company in 1977, after graduating from Harvard Business School. She earned her MBA with high distinction, was a Baker scholar, and won the Brown prize as
the most outstanding marketing student in her class.

Phyllis Yale

Phyllis Yale
Phyllis Yale is a senior advisor in Bain's Boston office. She joined the firm in 1982 and was elected to the partnership in 1987. Yale has been a leader in building Bain's healthcare practice for over 29 years.

Yale has served in a number of leadership roles at Bain, including Chair of the worldwide Compensation and Promotion Committee and Chair of the Nominating Committee. Yale ran Bain's Boston office, as well as the East Coast for 6 years. She now devotes all of her time to client work.

Julie Coffman

Consulting Magazine Achievement Awards: Women Leaders in ConsultingJulie Coffman
Julie Coffman was recently named as one of the top Women Leaders in Consulting for 2011. Each year, Consulting magazine selects a number of individuals for this award and Julie has been selected as part of this year's elite group. Julie is a partner at Bain and Co., based in Bain's Chicago office. She joined Bain 21 years ago and is a leader in both the global healthcare and organization practices. Internally, Julie has held several key leadership roles, and in July of 2009, she was named the chair of Bain's Global Women's Leadership Council which spearheads all dialogues and initiatives pertaining to increasing the number of women in Bain's leadership ranks.
