My favorite case
A private equity fund was looking into buying a consumer products company, operating in the laundry care industry. During the case, we developed a deep understanding of consumer behavior through a large survey, we assessed innovative products under development, we built an understanding of the competitive dynamics in this category, and investigated trade conditions.
It was a great case as it touched upon many important challenges consumer product companies face.
My personal results story
We helped a technology company to define a new organization in line with their renewed strategy. Personally, I was helping the global head of sales determine the new organization. Many complex questions came to the table, especially one topic that had been on the table for multiple years and was never decided on (leading to many confusions and uncertainties in the organization). By applying Bain's decision driven organization methodology we were able to finally come to a conclusion and solve this issue.
