Recruiting interview
A key aspect of our success at Bain is ensuring that we bring the best talent onboard. In São Paulo, as an office with strong growth prospects, our demands are even higher. I interview Raphael in the last round and have the privilege of extending him an offer, which he accepts on the spot!
10:00 AM
Team meeting
Just three days from the final presentation to the client, now is the time to review our recommendations and make a collective effort to “stress test” them. The team has identified potential synergies that would significantly enhance the net income of the combined entity after the merger is closed. The manager goes over the presentation and we have a fruitful working session. We agree on final additions to our work for our Thursday meeting with the client.
4:00 PM
Discussion with CEO
I drive to the client’s headquarters to meet the CEO. I explain the emerging results of our work and the nature of the recommendations to be discussed with the Board of Directors on Thursday. He’s initially surprised with the level of synergies our team encountered, but when the total is broken down into its several pieces, all makes sense to him.
