It was really about the people.

• Why Bain?

  For me it was really about the people and the job itself. I knew, even before pursuing my MBA, that I wanted a career in strategy consulting because I really enjoy  problem solving. After meeting consultants from various firms, I decided that I liked Bain the best. Bainies are incredibly supportive and great to work with.

• My passion

  I have a great many passions. Currently, I am taking time to revisit my passion of music and playing the guitar. This passion was put on hold during my MBA studies. I am looking forward to eventually getting back into a recording studio.

• My favorite case

  My first case was with an ASX 50 company revamping their customer interactions, implementing sweeping changes across the organization and all levels of the firm. There was a palpable excitement in the people we met with and it is great to be a part of something that will be helping our client for years top come.

• My personal results story

  During my first case's second week, the team was preparing a slide for an up and coming leadership team meeting. The project generated some great analysis and really brought the team together. I am amazed at how influencial a relatively junior member can have on the whole case. It is a key reason I choose strategy consulting and I continue to be impressed by my choice.

• My perspective on diversity at Bain

  I was suprised at just how diverse Bain truly is. As a global firm it is not just diversity in terms of gender, sexual orientation, and race. The diversity is also found in people's background and thought process. Bain as a whole is also very diverse from the other consultanting firms and this diversity is key to our success.

• A final thought

  If you intend to pursue strategy consulting it is important that you properly perpare for all aspects of the interview, especially the case portion. You owe it to yourself to give yourself the best possible chance for success.
