Meet our people
Austin
Case Team Leader, Los Angeles
At Bain I have taken a leadership role in the Veterans at Bain affinity group.
Why Bain?
As a military veteran making the transition into the business world, I sought out a post-MBA opportunity that would provide me exposure to top quality people to work with and important and challenging problems to solve. During my summer internship at Bain I found both. At the same time I felt part of a truly unique culture that I knew would foster both my personal and professional growth. A few years later, I am continually impressed and inspired by my fellow Bainies.
My passion
At Bain I have taken a leadership role in the Veterans at Bain affinity group, helping out transitioning veterans and continuing to grow the pool of top veteran talent in our offices.
Outside of work, I am a full time dad, and am expecting the birth of a second son.
My favorite case
I spent six months helping a B2B/B2C food company to optimize its supply chain operations and also develop its strategy as a unified company following several acquisitions. It was rewarding to play such a key role in helping to write a new chapter in the company's story, and I continue to check in with our clients to make sure things are on course.
My personal results story
At the end of a recent case, a senior client sent an email to our team thanking us for our work and stating that he really appreciated the value our team had added during our time together. While a thank you note is not an uncommon outcome of a Bain case, his sentiments were especially rewarding as he had (admittedly) been a skeptic of consultants from the outset of the case. After just a few months, we won over a seasoned industry veteran by showing him tangible value and results.
My perspective on diversity at Bain
Having had a chance to be a part of Bain's diversity recruiting team, I've witnessed the active effort Bain takes to tap into the unique talents and experiences that come from our well balanced teams.
A final thought
While in the military I learned to trust and depend upon the members of my team. Although we operate in a different venue, I have been quite impressed by the remarkable teammates around me and have leaned on them to take on some of the most challenging business problems out there.
