  • Why Bain?

The people at Bain are what makes it such a great place to work. I enjoy coming to work every day because I get to spend my time working with people I consider some of my best friends. The culture of taking work seriously, while not taking ourselves too seriously is something I appreciate a lot.

In addition I really appreciate the effort Bain has made in my personal development; from my externship, my transfer to our Sydney office, to helping me with business school, Bain has looked after my interests.

  • My favorite case

My favorite recent case was developing a new trade promotion strategy for a consumer products firm. The firm was spending a significant amount of marketing budget promoting its product with retailers but had not realizing the sales boost it had hoped for. Our team came in, analyzed the past promotions, and re-designed the trade spending program. We changed which products were promoted and how they were promoted. This case was especially rewarding for several reasons. First, we were able to quickly provide insight on unprofitable promotions that the client had not realized. Second, we set the client up for future success be re-designing the trade promotion, not merely delivering a presentation. Finally, it was great to be able to walk into any drug store or supermarket and see the results of our work in action.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

One of the things that makes Bain great is the diversity of backgrounds that people come from. Everybody has had a different personal and professional experience prior to Bain; I believe that makes Bain a better place to work and allows us to serve our clients more effectively.

  • A final thought

Bain is really an incredible place to work. I would encourage you to learn as much about the firm and the interview process by reaching out to Bain recruiters and alumni on campus.

  • My passion

My favorite aspect of the Bain work is the focus on results. I enjoy pushing to deliver an answer to the client, while not becoming overly occupied with process or long reports. The Private Equity Group, in particular, has helped me realize this passion as clients demand results as a cornerstone of their business.

Outside of the office, sports are my major passion. I enjoy competing, playing squash, following Seattle sports teams, and running in my spare time.
