My passion
At work, my true passion is trying to understand complex issues, and I am convinced that this can only be done when working closely together as a team. I love how each team member owns a little piece of a big puzzle and how we as a team try to fit these pieces together in order to understand the bigger picture. During each meeting, we are all very excited to sharpen our understanding, and to drive towards an answer that really helps our client.

My favorite case
My favorite case was a project for a global beverages company (known for its affordable, mainstream beverages) that was wondering whether they would enter the "Luxury" segment. I really liked this case for two reasons. First, the topic was extremely interesting as we had to crystallize the "best practices" from other luxury companies, so we were in touch with Hermès and Louis Vuitton experts. They told us crazy stories about people spending thousands of euros on a bottle of wine. Second, we worked with a fantastic cross-office team (Brussels & Chicago) with a great mix of people who all had different levels of experience (ACs, Summer Associates, interns, Consultants, etc.)

My personal results story
In my second year at Bain, I worked on a project assessing the value of a potential acquisition of a large consumer goods company. My role was to develop a complex model encompassing the valuation of the company, with all kinds of forecasts and estimations. While doing this work, I constantly had to coordinate with other team members, who were working on value creation initiatives. I was the one integrating the financial impact of their initiatives in the overall financial model. At the end of the project, my work was handed over to the client and to an investment bank to decide on the price to be paid for the acquisition. A number with a lot of zeros!
