  • Why Bain?

I chose Bain because of it's focus on driving results with clients of all sizes - large, medium and small companies.  The culture at Bain is all about passion, energy, partnership, fun and results. Bain has also enabled me to drive me career in a sustainable way - I have been part time on and off for over 6 years.

  • My passion

At Bain I focus on consumer product companies, but I enjoy working on all business issues from growth strategy to trade optimization to supply chain full potential.  I am also very involved in recruiting as I love bringing new Bainies on to our team.

Out of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children playing golf, skiing, riding bikes and going to the museums in Boston.

  • My favorite case

Recently I worked on an optimization project - trying to make the money that our client, a consumer product manufacturer, spends with its retail customers work harder to drive more sales.  The project was great because the client from the CEO down was very engaged on reducing their trade investment while improving the results of the money that they do put to work.  Over the years our client had been spending more and more with retailers yet their market share was declining.  Why was that happening and how could we stop that cycle?  We put in place a "pay-for-performance" program which had the support of sales, marketing and finance.

I was also working with a team from our Chicago office and a group of partners from different offices - it was great to get to know even more Bainies from around the system.

  • My personal results story

To me, delivering results to my clients is first about finding value from our work and ensuring that they are able to implement our joint recommendations.  Additionally, over the long term, my goal is to be an advisor to my clients regardless of whether or not we are working on a specific "project".  Having a client pick up the phone to talk to me about the issues they are facing is the biggest compliment and reward I could ask for.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

I am very involved and proud of the "Women at Bain" initiatives.  Especially in my office, Bain has a large, strong and motivated group of women partners and managers.  This group has been very strong mentors to me and I am, hopefully, returning that favor to the next generation of women at Bain.

  • A final thought

The best advice that I can offer a recruit is to really do your homework and get to know Bain.  Our approach and our style is different.  Let us understand your goals, priorities and other opportunities.  This is the best way for us to jointly understand if Bain is the right place for you.

And, relax! The interview isn't always about getting everything "right."  It is about letting us get to know you and how you think. Good luck!
