I never would have guessed I could be partner at a firm like Bain - but I never could have done it without all the people at Bain who helped me along the way.

• Why Bain?

  I felt Bain was differentiated vs. other firms based on the results we co-create with our clients - but the main reason I joined was the people I met throughout the recruiting process.
  

• My passion

  I am passionate about helping shape the future of Bain through our MBA recruiting efforts.  I currently lead Kellogg recruiting for Bain globally - and I enjoy sharing my experiences and perspectives with Kellogg students to help them make their post-MBA career choices.  I also care a great deal about my family (wife and two young boys).  I feel Bain has given me a great opportunity to develop professionally while allowing me to be the type of husband/father I want to be.

• My favorite case

  We worked with a small glass manufacturing company that had experienced declining sales and profits, and a 50% decrease in stock price over the past 18 months.  We worked side by side with them to develop a new portfolio strategy (what businesses to exit, other to double down their investment).  They are doing great now - with stock up 3x over the last 5 years.  The Founder of the Company was very thankful for our help saying "this is the best strategy work I have seen in 40yrs at this company - and our path to future success in very clear".

• My personal results story

  I was not sure how successful I could be in strategy consulting coming from a career in the military (six years in the Air Force).  But I am amazed at the number of people at Bain who took a personal interest in my development and mentored me throughout my career. 

• A final thought

  Getting your MBA opens so many doors in terms of career possibilities -- but I can't imagine where I would be had I not decided to join Bain after Kellogg.  I have learned a great deal more than I ever imagined, worked with great clients to achieve great results at their companies, and had a great time along the way.  In short it has truly been a GREAT experience .
