I've been able to travel the world through the Bain network and I've made great professional and personal contacts globally.

• Why Bain?

  I wanted an opportunity to experience working abroad and Bain's global network allowed me to experience just that. I also wanted quality training as a general business manager. And Bain's skill-set is highly relevant to a number of other jobs I would consider for later in my career.

• My passion

  I'm passionate about international travel and having done several transfers and worked in a number of Bain offices, I've been able to reach many of my goals - both personal and professional.

• My favorite case

  My favorite case was an insurance case in India for a UK-based asset management company.  The client had been in India for a long time but hadn't been able to achieve much success.  Given India's explosive growth (and just being a fascinating country in itself), I thought the case would be a great experience - personally and professionally.  My team worked on a four-month strategy case, which helped redefined the client's strategy in India.  Given our close working-relationship with the client, I not only developed a good professional rapport with their team, but also a true friendship with my direct client map, who then went on to lead the implementation of our strategy. 

• My personal results story

  Besides international travel, my other passion is volunteerism.  During my Shanghai transfer I brought in China's first 'pro-bono' client - a strategy case for the international movie star - Jet Li.  Jet had just established his foundation and wanted a clear strategy roadmap.  In addition to having a great case, the office got to meet Jet Li in person, and they continue to work with him today. 

• A final thought

  I value Bain for its flexibility. I've been able to travel the world through the Bain network and I've made great professional and personal contacts globally.  I suggest everyone take advantage of all the various Bain programs - they're fantastic!
