  • Why Bain?

I initially became interested in Bain because the firm seemed to be so focused on results. I remember seeing the Bain client "stock price chart" in a recruiting presentation and thinking, 'no other firm talks about results like Bain.' Additionally, I had a couple of friends at Tuck who had graduated the year before me; there was a natural connection to Bain through people I already knew and respected.

  • My passion

My passion at Bain is looking back at the client results that I've helped generate. I take huge pride in the success stories that I've been a part of. The reason I'm still at Bain today is the opportunity to play a role in future success stories.

Outside Bain, I'm most passionate about spending time with my family. I also love anything to do with wine. My wife and I recently went on a trip to Sonoma and Napa and had a wonderful time. We've also been to several wine regions in Australia. Our hope is to travel to some 'old world' regions in France, Spain and Italy in the near future!

  • My favorite case

I recently led a case with a wireless telecom operator. The objective was to help them assess their network options to accelerate the transition from 2G to 3G technology. We helped the client make some difficult decisions regarding some of their prior network investments and put them on a path to build and launch their 3G network faster than they thought possible at the outset of the project. They went on to execute one of the most successful 3G launches of any wireless operator globally. This case sticks out in my memory because of the magnitude of change (and impact) that we helped the client achieve.

  • A final thought

Every decision has an emotional element. You can do all the due diligence and analysis on your post-graduation job options that you want, but at the end of the day, some element of your decision will be made by your "gut". My advice is to do your homework and then listen to your gut.
