Everyone at Bain is always willing to lend a hand to help one another succeed both inside and outside of the office.

  • Why Bain?

After spending a summer interning at Bain, I knew there was no other firm I'd rather join full time.  Everyone I worked with - colleagues and clients alike - were high caliber people who I enjoyed working with and who created an unparalleled learning environment every day.

  • My passion

I spend a lot of time outside of work volunteering for education and children's services organizations, and have been fortunate to find a large group of people at Bain who share this passion.  Through Bain's support of Rowe Elementary School, I am able to help this Chicago-based charter school alongside many of my Bain colleagues.

  • My favorite case

With new cases often introducing me to new industries and capabilities, each new case has provided a memorable learning experience.  One that stands out above the rest, however, was a case for a major fashion magazine.  Bain was hired to help the company develop insights into shopping behaviors and desires of various female customer segments. Fashion was a new industry for me, and I loved learning about it!

  • My personal results story

While working with a real estate firm on revenue enhancement, the client was skeptical as to how much improvement potential existed.  However, after a quick diagnostic our team felt there was potential to optimize pricing on several categories of apartments, and we persuaded the client to run a pilot testing our hypotheses.  By carefully co-designing the pilot, agreeing on the metrics for success, and measuring the results together, we identified millions of dollars in revenue opportunities that no one at the client initially believed to be there.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

I'm constantly impressed by the diversity of thought that Bainies bring to the table as part of problem-solving process.  This stems from their diverse backgrounds; just in the class of Bainees that started the year I did, colleagues had studied everything from literature, to business, to chemical engineering, to theology.  This diversity of thought and experience helps ensure we've approached a problem from all angles and are delivering the best solution to our clients.

  • A final thought

The collegial atmosphere at Bain continually surprises me.  Everyone is always willing to lend a hand to help one another succeed both inside and outside of the office.
