- MY BLOG
The consulting business can be very tough on people. However, I feel Bain has unique characteristics that helps make the work very sustainable.
- Our results-driven approach saves time.
- The flexibility of the work environment allows you to choose what is best for you and you are not forced to follow a predetermined path.
- Perhaps the biggest difference is our people, who are very talented and driven but also down-to-earth and approachable.
I dislike the status quo and love new experiences. At Bain, I found the opportunity to develop a pragmatic approach and deliver tangible results across a wide range of industries, project types and geographies. Outside the office, my passion is motorcycles, an interest I share with many of my co-workers.
My favorite case
Last year, I was responsible for the mining work stream of a gold mine following a merger/integration. I found the geography - the Atacama Desert and the Andes Mountains - very unique and interesting. It was also rewarding to develop a structured and results-driven approach, working side by side with the mine managers. We also built a solid relationship with the parent company CEO, who was impressed with our ability to focus on the right details. This helped ensure the solution provided the greatest value.
My personal results story
Since joining Bain, I have gained a deep appreciation of "value." During my case experiences, I have built a unique toolkit base to use in a wide range of business situations. When presented with a problem, I can quickly list the critical questions, develop a hypothesis, prioritize tasks, make a sound analysis and then recommend the solution. When necessary, I can also guarantee its implementation.
A final thought
Deciding where to work is not easy. To make the best decision, you should compare the different value propositions to understand where you will fit best given your personal development plans. Bain is very supportive of its people and offers a flexible and enriching environment where you can take on as much as you can handle to maximize your learning experience and tailor your career.
