Meet our people
Anouk
Consultant, Amsterdam
People at Bain are really enthusiastic, easy to approach and open.
Why Bain?
I knew quite early during my studies that I wanted to be a strategy consultant, but deciding which consultancy firm was more difficult. In the end the Bain people were the most important and distinguishing factor. People at Bain are really enthusiastic, easy to approach and open.
My passion
For me, working with different people on different projects all the time is really exciting and challenging. I also like the fact that besides the hard work, there's a lot of time for fun. Next to my work my passion is sports, and Bain gives me the opportunity to play sports four times a week before or after work.
My favorite case
One of my favorite cases is one I worked on for a large cable company. My work-stream was responsible for determining customer segmentation for TV watchers. In the end we came up with four very recognizable and actionable segments, which fed into the long-term strategy of the company. My role was to design and conduct a customer survey, analyze the results and interpret the characteristics of the different segments. For our client this segmentation was extremely insightful in terms of their product offering.
My personal results story
I was involved in selecting the art for the Amsterdam office. For the employee spaces we decided to have brainstorm sessions with every department. They could come up with their own ideas for which photos to include in their section of the office. We arranged two professionals who facilitated the brainstorms and made the photos. We ended up with some very personalized art in the office, varying from a snapshot of employees climbing through dunes to a photo of one of Amsterdam's noteworthy bridges.
A final thought
My advice to recruits is to choose the company where you feel most at home. You'll spend a lot of time with people there, so it should be a place where you can have a great time!
