  • Why Bain?

One of the main reasons I chose Bain was because of the breadth of opportunities at Bain and the possibilities if one decides to leave. At Bain, there are opportunities to work in a number of different industries like consumer products or healthcare and do extraordinary things like externships with the Gates Foundation or office transfers to Sydney, Australia. Upon leaving, I've had colleagues go to hedge funds, non-profits, law school, business school, among other things. I just really appreciated all of the opportunities afforded to Bain ACs.

  • My passion

I've enjoyed working and talking with influential business leaders both at Bain and at our clients. I also have enjoyed volunteering outside of conventional case work, working with Inspire on pro-bono cases for non-profits and also volunteering with City Year to help their corps members with college applications. Outside the office, I work with several local non-profits including Bird Street Community Center, a center focused on providing academic and recreational activities for youth in Boston.

  • My favorite case

I worked on a pro-bono case for a non-profit focused on Extended Learning Time in public school. We helped evaluate their cost per student and investigated strategies to attain public funding. I enjoyed this case because it allowed me to explore non-profits in a formal setting. In the end, our work resulted in a presentation and white paper that was circulated by the organization on the cost effectiveness of ELT.

  • My personal results story

On a recent case, I had the opportunity to lead a session with several senior clients on the logistical tenants of divestitures. It was an exciting opportunity for me to be looked upon to direct this meeting and answer key questions about planning for a divestiture.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

I'm extremely impressed with the Blacks at Bain (BABs) network at Bain & Company. There are annual worldwide sessions where all BABs members meet, several mentor networks to tap into, and a true camaraderie that I have come to appreciate.

  • A final thought

In the end, Bain is a great place to start a career. I've had the opportunity to get experience in a variety of industries and business functions and I couldn't have imagined a better place to begin my business career.
