Meet our people
Associate Consultant, Amsterdam
Bain provides new Associate Consultants with everything needed for a great start of your consulting career.
After having done an internship in the San Francisco office I was convinced to join Bain as an Associate Consultant. The people at Bain are highly energetic and fun. Also, they highly value personal development and in a short time frame (my internship was only 10 weeks) I already experienced a steep learning curve. Bain is the place to work when you're passionate about achieving results and care about the one-team spirit.
My favorite case
In my current case, which also my first case as an AC, we are working with an Industrial Services company on integrating two of their organizations. It's a great first case with lots of learning opportunities and it gives an interesting insight in the internal politics and psychology related to organizational change. At the end of the day it's about achieving great results together with our clients - which is exactly what we're doing and which is acknowledged by our enthusiastic client.
My perspective on diversity at Bain
To work at Bain is to work with a very diverse set of people with different nationalities and backgrounds in terms of degrees and work experience. Not only in the Amsterdam office but also during our global trainings. I recently went on the Associate Consultant Training and worked together (and had lots of fun!) with 130 Bainies from literally all over the world. Bain has also a "Women at Bain" network that connects female Bain employees through fun and inspiring activities, from experience sharing to a wine tasting class.
A final thought
Bain provides new Associate Consultants with everything needed for a great start of your consulting career. In my first 2 months I've been assigned a mentor and a buddy. My mentor is a manager and we regularly talk about my personal development and case experience, his seniority in the firm enables him to give me proper advice when needed. My buddy is an experienced AC who I can reach out to with more informal questions. Next to this, I just returned from a 2-week training in Cape Cod for new Associate Consultants. An intense training with a real "work hard, play hard" atmosphere!
My advice for applicants would be to prepare well for the interview (have a good look at joinbain.com to find out more about what Bain does and stands for) and show what your passionate about!
