  • Why Bain?

I chose Bain because of the supportive people and the culture. Everyone I met during the interview process, and since starting to work at Bain, is team focused and inclusive. While the office culture is to strive to produce the best work we can for our clients and to constantly challenge ourselves, there is still a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

  • My passion

In the office I have really appreciated the opportunity to gain experience in multiple industry sectors. I love getting involved in recruiting and I am looking forward to starting tutoring students, which the London Office runs in partnership with a local school.

Outside of the office I still play National League hockey for Staines. Making training can sometimes be difficult during the week but my supervisors encourage me to continue doing this and work to ensure it's possible!

  • My favorite case

I worked on an internal project to determine Bain's global direction in supporting social enterprise and international education. As well as doing extensive research on these sectors, the team worked with the London graphics department and external animators to produce a short video on how Bain can get involved in global social and environmental work, which was shown to all partners worldwide at their annual meeting, and is now used for recruiting and is on our website.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

Diversity is actively valued and encouraged at Bain- having people with different experiences strengthens individual case teams! There are also a whole range of different groups that offer support. As soon as I joined, all the women in my start group were invited to a 'Women at Bain' dinner event at one of the partners' houses, and there is a whole intranet site where you can find information, find informal mentors and ask questions. There is also a 'Women at Bain' email list- once someone had a client meeting re-arranged at short notice and had to send out a suit and shoes SOS message. She had so many responses, from new hires to partners that she had an entire new wardrobe to choose from!

  • A final thought

A job is not just about the work- the people you're with make all the difference!
