  • Why Bain?

As I was doing my job search, I really made an effort to seek out companies where I thought that I would enjoy going to work every day.  I looked for a company culture where I felt that I could thrive and grow both personally and professionally.  As I met with Bain employees, and in particular the Amherst alumni working at Bain, I thought that this would be a great place for me to get a broad introduction to the business world and enjoy doing it.

  • My passion

At Bain, my passion is the relationship that Bain is developing with Citizen schools.  Citizen schools partners with public middle schools in Boston and a number of other cities across the country.  I am helping to develop an after school curriculum that will be taught this year - students will do interactive activities once a week to learn about the consulting profession and develop their analytical and problem solving skills in a fun way.

Outside the office, I tend to just enjoy bumming around with friends and enjoying the shopping and restaurants of Newbury street.

  • My favorite case

On my most recent case, I've been helping drive savings for a company in the telecommunications industry.  I've been taking a careful look at their spend with certain external vendors in order to find the savings opportunities that are both actionable and yield significant results.  My team has been working very closely with our clients to push these initiatives forward, and it has been rewarding to see the comradely and joint sense of success that develops across our group as savings begin to hit the bottom line.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

Bain tends to be a place where diversity of thought is cherished.  I think that one thing that Bain really looks for in candidates is a breadth of perspective in terms of academic background, personal experiences and interests.  So far, I've learned a lot both in and outside of the office from the people I've worked with.

  • A final thought

Bain is a great way to get an introduction to a broad range of industries and business problems.  It's also a chance to spend your time with people who are extremely bright and looking to make a difference for their clients.
