  • Why Bain?

The people. I haven't met a single person at Bain, who I wouldn't enjoy working with. That's incredible when you think about it. I keep waiting to have a bad experience with another Bainie but it hasn't happened yet.

  • My passion

I love playing soccer. I played through high school and college, so I'm a big fan of the Bain World Cup.

Each year Bain offices from around the world send teams of Bainies to compete in a soccer tournament called the Bain World Cup (it's in Paris this year). Lots of other Bainies come to play 'social soccer' and volleyball, so it ends up being a huge event.

  • My favorite case

My most recent client was a large utility company. I was working with teams of client engineers because as a mechanical engineer I was able to 'speak the language'. I think this is a major advantage we have as science/engineering students. Often Bain works with technical clients and our background allows us to act as an interface between the business and technical side of the case.

  • A final thought

I studied for Bain interviews by going through Case In Point with a friend. We would take turns being the interviewer and the interviewee, allowing us to get live case practice. I think that is the best way to prepare for the case interview process.
