  • Why Bain?

I chose Bain for two simple reasons - people and learning. Fascinated by the Bainies I met throughout the interviews and other recruiting events, I decided to join Bain on the day I was offered a position, and have yet to regret my decision so far. Bain has provided me with the opportunity to work with passionate leaders in various practices and industries, who also have become great friends in and out of work.

  • My passion

Experiences in various industries, from fast-food to healthcare and from financial services to semiconductors, and functions, from competitor benchmark to commercial due diligence, have kept me passionate throughout my career at Bain. Achieving "expert status" after each case experience makes me feel great, and I look forward to greater experiences to come, with respect to both scope and depth.

  • My favorite case

Corporate M&A cases are special in many aspects. In addition to evaluating target's business sustainability and growth potential, we also need to assess various strategic questions, such as the timing of acquisition, priority of the deal within our client's growth initiatives, client's capabilities to realize upside potential, and target's fit within client's long-term growth strategy.

  • My personal results story

Multiple parties have different thoughts in many cases. In a recent commercial due diligence case, our client did not have a clear consensus on whether to further pursue the ongoing deal. Finding that the deal was not likely to make a critical building block to client's long-term growth, our team convinced client management to develop capabilities required to capture potential value before moving on with the deal. The case turned out to be fruitful for all parties among client and Bain, as we delivered 'True North', albeit not the sweetest, solution to client.

  • My perspective on diversity at Bain

Diversity is what has driven Bain to the next step-stronger, faster, and more fun. Bain's Seoul office fosters diversity in a variety of dimensions, such as gender, culture, and academic backgrounds. As one of the few with international backgrounds in Seoul office, I am glad we are becoming more and more diverse in recent years.

  • A final thought

If you're a college senior looking for your first job out of college, take a moment to think about what matters most to you. There could be other places that can fill your resume in a similar fashion, but no place that will provide you with a comparable experience, both professional and personal.
