Why Bain?
I chose Bain because of the people. I know everyone might say that about their firm, but Bain truly has a unique culture and respect for the individual. It was apparent in the recruiting process and has proven true through my many years at the firm.

My passion
Within Bain, my passion is helping women succeed. We have an extraordinary group of women leaders who I (and Bain) want to see succeed and grow to join the partnership. Outside of Bain, my passion is spending time with my two little boys!

My favorite case
An industrial company was looking for ways to spur growth and had an idea about a radical new technology but didn't know how to commercialize it. The Bain team did a complete business plan for the new technology including interviewing potential customers, evaluating partnership opportunities, competitive threats, etc. It was a top to bottom start up strategy that has just been launched. It was exciting not only because it shaped the future for this company, but also because it required "right brain" thinking about how to package, sell and position the product.

My personal results story
I was part of a team that helped the City of Atlanta develop a turnaround plan when faced with a budget deficit. Not only did the plan close the budget gap, but it was personally rewarding to work on issues that impact thousands of citizens.

A final thought
What has surprised me the most is that I have found consulting can be a long term fulfilling career at the right firm. Going in, I thought I would eventually burn out or want a line role. At Bain, I have found a global network of colleague that I enjoy working with everyday AND an ability to have impact in my daily work. That combination has resulted in a sustained career in consulting that I would not have thought possible.
