Manager

Bain managers are the leaders both for the case team and the client. They advise the client on issues—even those outside the scope of current Bain work—and maintain client relationships over an extended period. Managers have a seat and a voice at the leadership table. They also play a pivotal role in the office, fulfilling various leadership roles, increasing their practice area expertise, and supporting the career development of junior employees.

Key learning at Bain

As managers, talented individuals learn to view the entire field, refine their general management skills, drive business decisions, and build the firm's assets. The learning curve is steep. Managers take responsibility for cracking the toughest problems and packaging the insights in a compelling way that convinces the client to take action. Managers accomplish this by learning to work collaboratively with multiple teams and to cultivate a talented group of people.

Our managers are crucial members of the Bain management team. You support the growth and sustainability of the office. As you hone your industry and functional knowledge, you'll help build firm assets and begin to generate business opportunities with potential clients. And you'll pass on your professional experience and knowledge by supporting junior employees with their career planning. Our managers also play critical leadership roles in their local offices, including the coordination of training, professional standards alignment and community service events, to name a few.

Bain managers often are promoted from within the firm's pool of experienced consultants. However, some outstanding experienced professionals, who have demonstrated success within industry or consulting, may be invited to join Bain at the manager level.
